Do you know that you can earn money for the school and for your family while you buy groceries, eat at your favorite restaurants, and shop at your favorite clothing stores?
Many PCES families are already earning money for their families and the school when they buy groceries at Kroger, rent videos at Blockbuster Video, eat at Burger King, and shop at the Gap, Toys R Us, J.C. Penney's and more!
How are they doing this? They are participating in the PCES Scrip program.
What Is Scrip?
Scrip is a term that means “substitute money." When you purchase scrip, you’re purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our organization and for your family.
How scrip generates revenue for you:
The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools and other nonprofit organizations to purchase large amounts of scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. PCES buys the scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount from two to fifteen percent or more – is our school’s revenue. The school retains 50% of rebates earned by each family as an administrative fee. For the other 50%, you can choose to receive tuition credit for your family's tuition account, you can receive cash back,or you can donate this protion of your rebates to the school. If you choose the third option (donation to the school), you can potentially receive a tax deduction for your gift.
Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising:”
Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything. You support the school by making regular household purchase they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip. Enroll in Scrip today and start helping yourself and the school through your every day shopping.
