Accelerated Reader is a computer program designed to test
students' comprehension of books. The student reads a book, then
takes a computer generated test. The student is given immediate
feedback on the results of the test. He or she earns points for tests
that are passed. The students receive rewards such as extra gym
or recess and end-of-the-year parties for earning points to reach a
goal set by his or her teacher.
We have documented that there has been a steady increase in
reading comprehension scores on the SAT-10 test since we
implemented Accelerated Reader.
The Accelerated Reader list below is listed by author in
alphabetical order. The list contains the name of the author,
the title of the book, the reading level of the book, and the points
possible for the book.
